The Sustainability Startathon Masterclass is an integral part of the
entire program. The purpose of the Masterclass is to enhance the
knowledge and skills of our contestants in order to excel in
tackling the problem statements, in producing quality and impactful
solutions as an effective team, as well as delivering your solutions
in a professional and inspiring manner.
Before any teams can successfully submit their Solutions for
judging, ALL team
members MUST complete
all the COURSES of the
Masterclass program. Failure to complete these courses will result
in disqualification as this is part of the selection process.
Thus, contestants are strongly encouraged to learn and complete all
the FIVE COURSES as they
are beneficial in their professional development and enhance their
knowledge around sustainability.
The ACIYLS Philippine Country Round will focus on the solutions highlighting the urgent need for stronger planning, better community engagement, and more climate-resilient development to ensure a safer, more sustainable future for all Filipinos.
The Philippines faces critical challenges in achieving sustainable cities and communities due to rapid urbanization and severe climate risks, compounded by weak infrastructure, limited public services, and fragmented, underfunded climate action.

Leadership Summit (ACIYLS) 2025 theme "Cultivating
Climate-Positive Cities," driving impactful solutions that
advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN
SDGs) with the focus on
SDG No. 11 - SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES and SDG No.
13 - CLIMATE ACTION.
Each team should consist of three (3) members, with a maximum of 1 non-local citizen per team; Must be between 18 and 25 years old; Current students or graduates from a higher education institution within the last 3 years; and Fluent in English.
All participants are required to pass the B2-level online test
from Testizer
(20 minutes, multiple choice), which evaluates reading, grammar,
and vocabulary skills; and All submissions and communications
must be conducted in English.

All project ideas must be entirely original. Any form of plagiarism, such as copying another team's work, using someone else's intellectual property without permission, or presenting others' ideas as your own, will result in immediate disqualification. If referencing external sources, proper citation is required to give credit to the original author or creator. Additionally, no idea should have more than 30% similarity to existing work—excessive similarity, even with citations, may lead to penalties, including point deductions or disqualification.
Teams are expected to maintain respectful behavior at all times. Discrimination, offensive conduct, or any harmful actions will not be tolerated. The NYVC, OSG, and RESOLUTE can disqualify any team that will fail to abide by the mechanics, rules, or regulations.
All decisions of NYVC, OSG, and RESOLUTE and its judges are final.
